- 4 medium Yukon Gold potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a large baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté chopped onions until golden brown.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, minced garlic, eggs, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix gently but thoroughly.
- Form small meatballs (about 1 inch in diameter) and set aside.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the greased baking dish. Sprinkle with half of the shredded cheddar cheese and add half of the meatballs on top.
- Repeat layering with remaining potatoes, cheese, and meatballs. Pour milk evenly over the top.
