  • 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder until combined.
  3. In another bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy (3-5 minutes).
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture; mix until smooth.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and half of the peanut butter. Drop spoonfuls of remaining peanut butter on top and swirl gently using a knife.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are crisp but centers are soft.
  9. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
